Lucid Dreaming

Lucid dreaming is possibly the single most exciting aspect of the dreaming experience. Imagine being able to fall asleep and during your dreams have full conscious awareness. This is a scientifically proven ability and anyone can achieve it with the correct training. Imagine being able to direct the dream to where you want to go and meet the people you want to meet. Its as simple as thinking about a place and your subconscious will take you there although it is your subconscious that will still pick the scenery for you. If you want to fly you merely have to think about the possibility and you'll be able to lift off the ground and race into the sky. This is possibly one of the most sought after dream states there is. The linking of the conscious and the subconscious is a monumental experience from which people find themselves completely blown away. Lucid dreaming is the ability to recognise that you are dreaming and effectively wake yourself up within that dream. There are multiple ways to try and aid this from spiritual excersise to using modern pieces of technology.

1. The first step towards Lucid Dreaming is the ability to break down the barriers of that of our waking worlds and our dream world. You have to let the conscious and the sub conscious meet each other for the process of Lucidity to come easier.

Reality Checks

This may seem a little strange at first but in time will you get used to it. The idea is to constantly test yourself to look for signs you are dreaming. You may think well this is stupid because it is obvious that I am not dreaming and that this is just reality so why bother. Well the thing is that when you become good at lucid dreams, and I can support this as having witnessed it before, you can think your awake and then be shocked when the next minute you find yourself opening your eyes in bed. In my case I had woken up and gone through my basic morning routines before school, I had breakfast, I spoke to my dad and had a wash, brushed my teeth got dressed and all this takes about 30-40 minutes remember. It was not until I got to the top of my road that I woke and the realisation of it all just being a dream was completely bizzare. Reality checks aims to get your mind used to questioning your reality in the hope that this repeated process will pass on into your dreams as you are required to realise that you are dreaming in order to sieze control. A good way to do this is to focus on something such as a sign or anything with writing. Just read it over and over willing it to change each time. Look away and then look back if it hasnt changed then your in the waking reality, if it has then you are dreaming. Make note that when this moment occurs and you expect to be awake and you suddenly are shocked by your seemingly omnipotent power the feeling you recieve will take your breath away. You can use many methods to check your reality during the day, look into mirrors because dream reflections are often evil or distorted in some way. Try and make things alter with your mind or try to slow down or speed up a clock. Do any of these or invent your own I just ask you kindly not to test the theory with flying for obvious reasons! ^-^

Ill continue to update the lucid dreaming page frequently with new methods and lucid related content.
