Your Dreams Explained

This is the area of the site where I shall post any dreams you decide to email to me for interpretation. I will only post your dreams and their explanations up here if you agree to let me do so. They are your dreams and if you want to keep them private that is your business. Check out the page Send Me A Dream to find out how to do just that.

First I will submit your dream and then follow it up below with the meaning.

Heartache - Dream submitted by Seth Stivala

Hi, Seth again!

Ok so here is my dream. I was at work (a skating rink) and I began to get chestpains, I mean serious chestpains, like if I was older I would be thinking I was having a heart attack. I also remember it was hard to breath. The thing that bothered me most was my boss (also my friend) and a few others were'nt taking me seriously that it really hurt, in fact I think they were laughing. Then I remember lying on the floor having a hard time breathing, and I'm not sure, but I may have died in my dream. Sorry this dream doesn't have as much detail, I didn't record it in my dream journal and only remembered it later after I got up. So if you could let me know what you think it means I'd appreciate it.

Seth

Heartache - Interpretation

Hey Seth thanks for posting!

Dreams about a persons place of work are common.

WORK: Work signifies a desire you might have or something you want to change in your life, it could be anything from a simple hobby or a simple need for progression in life, either in your job, education etc you want something to change. The good news is your actively trying to solve them.

CHESTPAIN: The chest pain signifies the problem. Not the actual problem ofcourse but the body and any of its parts shows us it may be an emotion struggle as the body represents our emotions. It has been noted that the chest\heart is linked to compassion and understanding.

HARD TO BREATH: This shows that you are feeling out of control of the problem and that it may be too overwhelming for you right now.

BOSS AND FRIENDS LAUGHING: It can help to look at the relationships you have with those particular friends and what part of your personality they most represent. The fact that they were laughing can suggest that you may be embarassed about this problem or simply that your feeling that its something you should overcome.

DEATH: If you did die, you said you were not sure it would simply show that you are trying to escape this problem and the challenges it brings.

This sort of scenerio I see alot in peoples dreams, I think that maybe you've got this problem, wether your aware of it or not and you want to make some changes in your life. It might not be a problem as such but simply a desire for something else or something more, say a new job or to take up a new hobby you've always wanted to do. This is shown by the fact that you were at work when the chest pains started.

Your friends shows you are might be worried about what people think and to be honest I think your looking for support from these people in what ever you decide to do so Seth; I hope they'll stick by you!

A Reccuring Dream - Submitted by Victoria Huxley

In this dream it is not the things happening in the dream that I notice but the fact that whatever is happening it is too dark for me to see properly.

I am usually in my house, and there is normally lots of other people there, but no matter how many lights I switch on, or curtains I open all the rooms remain dim, and unfocused. just before I wake up I am usually running round the house switching on lights and trying to find torches etc, and shouting for everyone who is there to do the same but no one helps, and the rooms stay dim.

A Reccuring Dream - Interpretation

Everything you told me seemed to point to one similiar thing.

DARKNESS\DARK\DIM: This suggests a state of confusion and anxiety about something in your waking life, it could also represent a part of you that you've not yet come to recognise.

PEOPLE SHROUDED: The shroud represents a problem or something that you know is there but you cannot seem to face at the moment. Thus you need to search for something to aid you.

RUNNING AROUND: This shows again anxiety and stress and that on a spiritual level you may be rushing into something far too quickly than you like.

HOME\HOUSE: Your house represents your soul or your personality as a whole, so take note that the whole dream which seems to be a conflict of some kind all takes place within your home. Also if you can remember any particular rooms that would help as different rooms represent different parts of oneself.

SEARCHING\TORCH: The fact that you were looking for something means your looking for some sort of answer or guidance and trying to solve a problem, the fact that it is a torch your looking for compliments this as a torch is a symbol of spiritual guidance and self confidence.

I hope this helps; to me I think at that moment in time you had something in your life that was making you uneasy and you simply were searching for a way to get over your problems. It seems to point towards your confidence etc and this is only an idea but maybe have you gained in confidence since going to University.

A Strange Dream - Submitted by Amelia Ford

I was queing up in a book shop with my friend Reece to buy the new Harry Potter book and I put my copy down to get my money out of my bag. When I went to pick it up it, it had gone! I started shouting at the shop assistant accusing her of not looking after it and demanding she find me a new one.

Suddenly I turn around and Reece is no longer Reece, he is Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer! We are being shot at by some people but I never see them, but I imagine they are evil vampires. We both run into a lift and I am frantically hitting the buttons but the door wont shut. The bullets are flying into the lift and hitting Spike (Reece) loads... he is really hurt! I run out the lift and collapse round the corner and pass out.

When I wake up I have a breathing mask on and a sari covering me. I pull the sari back and realise I am in an arab country... a bustling market with loads of shouting and I quickly pull the sari back over my head to decide what to do. I put the sari over my head and take the breathing mask off. I start walking to find the people who were shooting at me and Spike and end up outside the window of a material shop. I sit under the window spying on 2 arab men talking.

Suddenly I realise I am in an underground rasta cafe with loads of rastas! I queue up to get some jerk chicken, but as I get served I realise the woman is trying to posion me! So I ask for a salad and sit down to eat. I look up and there are Tv's on the wall and a news report is on and my face flashes up! People look at me and then alarms go off... then they all start trying to get at me!

A Strange Dream - Interpretation

QUEUE: Being in a queue suggests imposed order, your forced to wait to get somewhere or achieve something.

BOOK/BOOKSHOP: Searching for ways to help us govern what happens in our life.

MONEY/BAG: Feminine, uses social graces to deal with life, pay for what we need in some way.

STOLEN BOOK: This can mean that your scared of losing someone’s love or a prized possession etc and feel cheated when it is taken from you.

ANGER: Its sometimes hard to express anger in our waking life’s as freely as we’d like to so we can express it within dreams without hurting or upsetting anyone.

This first part of the dream is a huge mask for the process of searching for something that you desire, love perhaps. It also has strong signs that your worried about losing that love or already have had it taken away from you by somebody and your angry at them because of it. Is somebody standing in your way of achieving what you want to achieve?

REECE/FRIEND/TRANSFORMATION: Its important to work out what your relationship is with this friend and what he means to you. Like does he provide, trust, support, love, respect etc He’s probably here in this dream beside you for that very reason whatever it is.

The transformation from Reece into Spike is not necessarily anything to do with you wanting him to change etc its merely your mind telling you that change IS for the better and to accomplish things in life you just need to acknowledge that.

SPIKE/VAMPIRE: Now I know Spike… and its probably more to do with his onscreen character than that of him being a vampire or him being a famous actor etc which is what I had to determine. Spike is overall an anti-hero, he’s bad some of the time but most of the time he has a moral dilemma where inevitable he has to choose to save the day and help out, but he wont ever stick around to be thanked for it. The fact that he appears is probably something to do with how you see yourself or that he has some characteristics you find interesting and admire and may possibly like to recreate in yourself.

SHOT/SHOT AT: To be shot is an injury to your feelings. You may feel like you’re a victim to other peoples anger which is similar to the first part of the dream.

TRYING TO ESCAPE: Trying to get away from these people with Spike is like trying to maintain this transformation and strive to change yourself for the better but these people simply wont let you.

LIFT: The lifts interesting because you’ve got to ask, “Why a lift?” you could have chose anything but it was a lift. I think I am right to say that the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a lift is going up. It goes down as well but when you first enter a building you go up as you cannot usually go down. If you had gone up this would have been your escape and success of achieving what ever it is you want to achieve but as the lift failed it shows that you still cannot get away from what ever it is that’s holding you back.

COLLAPSE: When you collapse it’s basically saying from all these constraints (bullets) being placed upon you its just too difficult to carry on and get what you want and so it inevitably drags you down. What’s interesting is you actually went around a corner which is significantly linked to achieving something or making it past something difficult in your life but as you collapsed anyway maybe it shows that you were getting closer but didn’t quite make it.

This whole second part to your dream says “Leave me alone” or “Let me do it my way” Its as if somebody is stopping you from being who you want to be and you need to shake them off before you can achieve this. The changing from place to place by the way is the dreams way of saying this is a dream about change.

THE EAST/ARAB: The East is a symbol of new beginnings, new life etc

THE MARKET: Markets are a hugely important symbol in dreams as it signifies our ability to cope with everyday life and how we relate to people. It also represents how we value ourselves as human beings as it’s a place of buying and selling. What do you want to sell and what characteristics do you want to buy etc.

HIDING: The fact that you remained hidden could suggest you find it hard to get on in crowds etc or feel that its better to not be seen than draw attention to yourself. It may also be the case that your just not sure about yourself yet and need to draw more thought into how you want people to see and value you before revealing the new you to the world.

The conversation you overhead stumped me and as of yet I cant find a place for it.

The fact that you still went to look for Spike could suggest you are STILL looking for that desired part of you that was wounded and stopped from moving on with you in that lift when Spike was shot. Your hiding simply because you want this part of yourself to be back again to show the world the real you.

UNDERGROUND: being underground represents your unconscious mind so stuff shown in this part of the dream might not be aware to you . This is an easy way for your unconscious to let things through to you.

QUEUE: Another one! You seem to waiting for things a lot, maybe by choice or maybe by force.

POISON: A brilliant ending to the whole dream. Recognising the poison means you’ve found the person or attitudes that are holding you back and you replace that with a salad.

SALAD: Salad is symbolic of the simplest of values, you’ve gone back to your core beliefs and found that its those that are best for you.

WANTED: Because everyone is after you again it shows that people are stopping you from getting the things you want, a recurrent message in this dream.

Right, well. This whole dream says to me you want to change things about yourself, don’t we all, and you know what it is you want to be BUT there are people affecting these decisions maybe directly stopping you. This could be anything from peer pressure to the innocent but annoying restraints of family expectations etc. A very interesting and over all good insight.

Thanks for sharing!
